The second immigrant story of my blog…this is Tarek’s story.
Tarek moved to Canada over 3 years back. He hails from Egypt. He moved here with his wife and three children.
Tarek is a pharmacist by trade. He has worked with the biggest names in the pharmaceutical industry. He has traveled to many countries and has worked outside of Egypt for most of his career.
He switched careers and moved to marketing while working in Dubai. When he moved to Canada he took courses in marketing to formalize the knowledge gained. While looking for employment here he made a conscious decision to not go back to pharmaceuticals.
Tarek got married young and had his first child before he turned 23. Listening to his struggles as a young parent makes me admire him even more. He is a hands on parent who takes an active part in his children’s lives. For the past two years his wife has been employed in a different city and he’s raising his kids, for the most part on his own.

As a professional Tarek is very organized and forthcoming with advice and guidance. He is always quick to share an anecdote from his life to help ease difficult situations. I truly enjoy working with him.
