Nothing bonds teams better than food…You eat together, you stay together.
After a fun filled day spent at our volunteering activity(see prev post), we went for a team lunch. We chose to eat at la Carnita located in the Food district at Square One, Mississauga.
La Carnita is a Mexican themed restaurant, with beautifully designed wall art created by some of Toronto’s best street style artists. One step in the restaurant and you realise how much thought has been put into communicating the distinct feel of local art and culture.
It is an authentic Mexican joint with a dynamic twist to most dishes. The Mexican street corn was the first menu item we ordered and it did not disappoint. It was charred corn on cob with a dressing of queso anaejo cheese, Mexican creama and chilli de arbol.
The next dish I ate was the avacado mango salad with fried chicken. It was everything a salad should be and more. It was fresh, colourful and full of flavour. Packed with herbs, sweet mango and creamy avacado.
Even though I was full I did try a taco. The tacos served at la Carnita were just the right size. All the ingredients were present in good proportions and each bite was a burst of flavour.
The staff was very pleasant and the service was very quick. We had our appetizers in under 5 mins, quickly followed by the main course.
If you love Mexican food, you should definitely visit la Carnita.
